May We Be Men

I saw this video a couple weeks ago, and I have spent considerable time thinking about it.

Take a second and watch it.

This is the kind of man I would like to be. I love his challenge that he extends to each of us to be men like unto Jesus.
" Though he will make some sacrifices and deny himself some pleasures in the course of honoring his commitments, the true man leads a rewarding life. He gives much, but he receives more, and he lives content in the approval of his Heavenly Father. The life of true manhood is the good life. Most importantly, when we consider the admonition to be men, we must think of Jesus Christ. The Lord asked His disciples what manner of men they should be and then answered, “Verily I say unto you, even as I am” That is our ultimate quest. "

Today I shared this video and my thoughts in Elder's quorum. I felt the spirit testify to me that God has a great work to do, and that the elders I was looking at would become instruments in His hands to bring to pass many great things. The lesson to be learned is a simple one. It is personified in the account of the Savior as He went about doing good, serving others, and teaching those around Him. We can be men, like unto the Savior, through love and service to those around us.

God lives and loves everyone. Christ gave His perfect life so that all mankind could be saved. Surely, we can accept and accomplish the task to care for those He has entrusted us with, whoever or whatever the circumstance. May we all strive to be better men.
