Battle Creek Falls

This last week was the craziest week of our lives: I finished the Praxis, my last finals ever, and proposed my prospectus. :) Kyle worked extra during the week so he could have Friday off from work. We decided to go on a hike at Battle Creek Falls in Pleasant Grove. The weather was gorgeous and we had a great time. After our hike, we went to Five Guys Burger and Fries. Then, we met up with Jeremy and went bowling in the Wilkinson Center for free! :) (Every semester, BYU students get 1 free, for the first time ever, we took advantage of it.) We had a great day.

I Survived

Today, I took the Praxis to see if I've learned enough from my graduate school education...Now we just wait a month for the results. :) I felt it went well. I studied as much as I could (almost every day) since February and had the support of my parents and my adorable husband the entire way. Thanks guys! :D

I found this picture on NASA's site the other day from the last mission of the Space Shuttle Endeavor. From what I can find, it is profoundly unique. It was taken as one of the Russian Soyuz spacecraft approached the ISS while the Endeavor was docked. This picture represents the progress of a race toward a greater goal. Differences can be put aside to create and maintain such an amazing accomplishment. With only one space shuttle mission left, this might be the last time an opportunity for a picture like this is even possible. I grew up dreaming of becoming an astronaut, of someday traveling to a distant world, or exploring the infinite domains of the universe. I hope that we as a race are not saying goodbye forever to the prospect of space exploration. Whatever the future of space travel is, I still someday dream of being apart of it, if only has an impassioned observer.

Life in a Nutshell

Life is super crazy, so here is our lives in a nutshell:
  • We got our new black leather couch (so we no longer have to sit on a bean bag on the floor!)
  • Kyle has enjoyed mowing our lawn the past few Saturdays and I have attempted to plant a spot of wildflowers in the backyard; however, the next 2 days after I planted the seeds, it rained a ton. I think they may have been washed away. Oh well...I guess we'll see in the next few days if they survived the storm.
  • Dustin, Megann, Lainey, and Libby have come and spent the night at our new home. We had such a fun time, hopefully they did too!
  • Nyall, Jen, Cambria, Kate, and Conner came to visit yesterday after Nyall completed his first marathon! Way to go!
  • We have already been asked to give talks in our new ward...thankfully, it won't be for about 3 weeks.
  • I take the Praxis (my large test to complete my classes for graduate school) this Saturday...(We both can't wait until it's over and done with. :)
Life is busy but absolutely wonderful. I love spending it with my sweetheart and best friend. I love Kyle so much. :)

Just an FYI

Dear those who reads this blog,
Kyle Clinton Richey has granted access and admin privileges for his blog to me, Stacey Marie Richey. Posts will now be updated by Kyle and myself; however, I'm new at the whole blogging thing, so this will be pretty entertaining. :)
