Scholtzkys

When I was a kid, I would sometimes go to work with my dad. I would play with the computers and often break things :) But one of my fondest memories are of my dad and I getting lunch. Just a block away from his office was a little sandwich shop called Schlotzskys. From what I can tell, there are less stores open now than there were when I was 10.  They sell deli sandwiches on the best sourdough bread I've ever had. I'll never forget getting the turkey on sourdough and sour cream and onion chips. It is one of my favorite memories of my dad.

Last week, Stacey and I were headed up to Bountiful to visit her family. There are only 2 Schlotzskys open in Utah, and we paid it a visit. It was my first time back in 5 years, and only my second time back in at least 10 years. It was great to share this childhood memory with my wife. We enjoyed some great sandwiches and even posed for a picture. I hope that I can have memories like these with my children someday.

I like your blog's new look!
I have memories of Schlotzsly's too. Grandpa Richey took me to lunch there when I was working at the office. It's a restaurant liked by generations of Richeys! I was sad when the one in Idaho closed.
